On 29th of January 2025, SatNav Africa JPO had the privilege of hosting the new Director General of ASECNA, Mr. Prosper Zo’o Minto’o, at the JPO offices in the San Marco Building, Léopold Sédar Senghor (LSS) Airport, in Dakar. He was accompanied by a delegation composed of Mrs. Rokyatou Bathily, Chief of Cabinet, and Mr. Sidy Kone, Ag. Director of Air Navigation.

This visit provided an excellent opportunity to discuss with the JPO Team the progress made by the “Support to Satellite Navigation in Africa” programme, which is chaired by the African Union Commission (AUC) and the European Commission (EC) under the Africa-EU Space Partnership programme.

While wishing the Director General success in his new role, JPO acknowledged ASECNA’s critical role in hosting this Pan-African Programme and ensuring its smooth daily operations. ASECNA’s support is essential in shaping the future of Satellite Navigation in Africa, including through the Augmented Navigation for Africa (ANGA) SBAS programme.
